Dear All,
Hello from Mrs. R. It has been almost a couple of months since I last blogged and it's now time to update you all on our adventures and new beginnings in Kuwait.

Mr R and I have been so, so lucky and fortunate in having our in-laws next door to us. They have been so wonderful, generous and supportive in all aspects of our lives, including taking us to so many different sites and shops. We have been really exploring Kuwait, in particular the American and pretty much any cuisine restaurants (yes, there are many, many American, English, Chinese, Italian, etc eateries in this country). We have also visited and have been shopping in the largest outdoor/indoor Shopping mall, known as "The Avenues", which also included a huge IKEA shop which we have visited at least 3 times since we've been here. :-)

In September 2014, we took the opportunity to visit The Old Souk (market place) in the city centre of Kuwait City (the capital of Kuwait). It was very beautiful, with an old, traditional market place and we were happy with our new friends who we met on the bus and travelled with us as we all explored the city life in Kuwait. It was pretty much like being in Central London, however it was much more humid and dusty, but the atmosphere was similar, with people trying to sell you items of clothing and food as soon as they found out that you're a tourist in their city. :-)

We've also been getting to grips with our jobs and for me, it has been quite over-whelming moving and working here in this lovely country. My employer and other members of the team noticed the challenge and over-whelming emotions within me and they have decided to adapt my role so that I would work with my other colleagues as a Teaching Assistant until I have settled down more comfortably and feel much more confident in the Kindergarten and for now, this seems to me to be the perfect solution until I am ready to take the next step, whatever that may be.
Saying that, I think that God has also got another plan in mind, because I may be given the opportunity to teach Piano to small 4 to 6 year olds privately after work. This opportunity will be arranged via the Kindergarten's Art Academy, so keep your fingers crossed, because it would mean a bit more extra money for Mr R and I and the opportunity to teach Piano again after teaching this instrument for nearly 5 years in my previous work, it would be interesting to be able to get to grips with it in another environment. :-)

Mr. R is happy in his work. He is currently a Reception teacher which is what he had wanted to do ever since he knew that we would be moving here. He had been previously offered the role of a cover teacher at the school, but then the circumstances changed and he was given a Reception class and told he was teaching them this academic year, so he is really happy to be able to teach the same age which he had been teaching the previous academic year. :-)

My dear Mr. R is much busier this year as he has just started working on a University degree and we are praying and hoping that he will get through this smoothly and successfully.

These past couple of months, I have also started singing in a Music Group (Choral Music mainly) here in Kuwait and it is absolutely amazing and it is so wonderful for me to be able to sing Choral Music again after 8 years of not singing in a Choir. It's a fantastic group, with an amazingly talented Conductor and a perfectly accomplished Pianist (who happen to be married to each other) and at the moment, we are working through Requiem Mass by Giuseppe Verdi and we will be performing this amazing, dramatic piece of Music around the middle of November. Wow! :-)

So as you can see, Mr. R and I have been very busy shopping, getting to know our new environment, perfecting our lovely, studio flat, singing and working hard and the weather has been really hot and sunny here. It's such a difference compared to the Summer/ Autumn weather in the UK and Central Europe.
We are also fortunate enough to live about ten to twenty minutes walk away from the local beach and we have been exploring it with our in-laws and friends, during the day and during the sunset times.....
With all that's been going on, no wonder there has not been any time to blog our adventures. Never fear, there's even more to come and even more adventures to explore, read and enjoy.... :-)
Until the next time. :-)
